What Is A Base Cream?

A base cream serves as a foundation in formulating body lotion, body cream and since it serves as a foundation it is usually unscented and also does not contain whitening additives. Base creams are usually very thick hence why it is easier to dilute any whitening formulation into it without it flopping or being too loosed that it cannot be used on the skin.

Ingredients In Making A Base Cream

120 ml of distilled water

50 ml of sunflower oil

12 g of emulsifying wax (nf)

6 g of stearic acid

10 ml of glycerin

2 ml of preservative (optiphen plus)

Step By Step In Making A Base Cream

Measure out all the ingredients.

Double boil the emulsifying wax, stearic acid, sunflower oil together or you can also microwave it until it becomes an oil.

Take it out of the heat and let it cool off a a bit.

Add the distilled water into the melted wax

Get cold water in another bowl and place the bowl of the melted wax into it.

Then whisk it together until you get a creamy texture.

Add the glycerin and whisk the mixture again

Add the preservative into the mixture and whisk it.

Making a cream base is not so complex even when formulating a cream base for acidic mixture, it is also easy to formulate when you have the exact ingredients and the measuring kits you are good to go. so, this can be formulated from the comfort of your home with little amount of money.

Note: This does not lighten the skin. It is just a base cream that can be used to mix any additives of your choice. But make sure you have an idea of what you are mixing into it.
